I would like to think of myself as a professional student. I've always had a lifelong love for education and learning new things, which is why I took as many courses as possible when I first enrolled in college. Originally chemistry major, I decided to put my college education on hold and enter paramedic school - in addition to joining the US Navy. I am back in college at Old Dominion University, where I'm pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology. Throughout my college career, I've always worked as a tutor and helped people of all ages improve their understanding of challenging material. Some of my favorite students to tutor were elementary and middle school children, but I also helped college-level students with subjects like organic chemistry, biology, physics, and MCAT test prep. My experiences in education have taught me that there's no right or wrong way to study. Everyone has a different learning style, which is why it's important for teachers to incorporate a wide range of activities and resources into their lessons to ensure that everyone is able to learn effectively. When I'm not teaching and learning, I like to spend my time lifting weights, reading books, and having fun with my family.
