Hobbies
I am a personable, dedicated, and passionate teacher who enjoys helping students identify and achieve their personal learning goals. I see my role as a facilitator in the student's own learning process, and I work best with students when I am able to incorporate their interests, skills, and expertise into lesson plans and activities. For this reason, my teaching methods vary depending on the student. In general, however, I enjoy using technology as well as experiential and creative activities in my teaching. For example, if learning Spanish vocabulary relating to food, I can develop a lesson plan that involves a trip to the grocery store and/or preparing a Latin American or Spanish dish. If teaching structural analysis in music theory, for example, I might incorporate the student's own choice of music and possibly a composition, improvisation, or dance activity. In short, students will have fun, remain curious, and learn at the same time.
